The Weather Within
by Theodore Enslin
In Memory In Homage

Not the symbol we are in need
deep need of scene not what stands
for it. We are fed the importance
of metaphor yet when it’s exact
it is the scene itself exact
no substitution.
It applies
to that day we need to bring
an axe against the root of the tree.
We need not reach for synonyms.
The blade’s the blade.
Sharpen it.
